Tarot Card O’ the Week #56: The Magician

The Card:  This powerful card talks about manifestation and shows itself when the querent has the skills or tools to make something happen.  In addition to the mad skills and resources the querent brings to the table, The Magician denotes there is universal energy that can be used to bring about the needed change.  The Magician is also a card of communication, which may manifest in the form of a letter, text message, email, or phone call.  The communication may also occur via the querent having a clear vision for a project or suddenly having the answer to a question that has been plaguing them.  Creative ideas can become reality when this card enters the party.  In a relationship spread, The Magician is a card of confidence and often means whatever message the querent sends will be heard.  It can also mean the querent will have an opportunity to make contact with a potential significant other.  In a financial or business spread, the querent has the tools and the backing to make an important goal a reality.  The key is to be organized and ready to move when opportunity strikes.  In a family spread, The Magician often means the querent has more power than they realize and should not be resigned to a victim role.  Or any role.  The querent is free to change a social pattern that is no longer serving them or representative of who they are.

Warnings:  Use the energy available to you wisely.  Be clear about what you want to make happen, but also be clear about why you want it to happen.  Selfish, prideful desires or decisions made in an overly emotional state are likely to backfire.  Like the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for because you may get it (and then some).  Keep your sense of entitlement in check as well.  Are you sure that what you want wouldn’t create needless suffering for others involved or that you really, truly paid your dues?  The Magician is a card of manifestation, but not a card of getting your every whim.  There’s work to be done here.  Honest action will reap benefits times three.  Dishonest actions will bring huge consequences for getting what you want in the short term.  You do not control others and any attempts to do so get slapped back hard when this card appears.  OTHER PEOPLE DO NOT EXIST TO SERVE YOU.  THEY ARE WALKING THEIR OWN PATH AND DO NOT HAVE TO CATER TO YOUR AGENDA.  Ever heard the saying “don’t ask the question if you can’t handle the answer?”  Yep.  That’s part of the warning too.  This card also deals with manifesting subconscious desires, which often get formed via your negative beliefs and self-talk.  Beware of what you say, feel, and think of yourself because this could be what gets manifested if you’re not careful.
